One Small Step for the Strand one giant leap for One Great Day!
The Strand Shopping celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Luna landing with its annual One Great Day in aid of Great Ormond St and local children's charity Zoe's Place.
On Wednesday 29th of May shoppers, retailers and staff from The Strand joined forces to raise money through a Toy tombola and Scoot-fit disco which had both children and adults getting fit and having fun all for a great cause.
On Mons Square there was cosmic fun with a rocket making workshop, and meet and greets with an astronaut complete with Space satellite model.
Rowland Parry centre manager commented: "We have been delighted with the turn out today its brilliant to see so many shoppers and retailers coming together for two very worthy causes. I would like to thank the Scoot - fit and Luna astronaut team who came today to make a very special day even more memorable"
Natasha Baggaley – Corporate and Events Fundraiser commented: "We are really excited to have the support of The Strand, Bootle for another year supporting Zoë's Place Baby Hospice through One Great Day. Their support is invaluable to us raising money and awareness for our special little lives. We provide respite, palliative and end of life care to babies and children age 0-5 with life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses. The Strands support means that we can continue to provide the care and support that is much needed for over 60 families that we support. We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who puts in all the hard work to make this possible. Thank you."
The Strand management team will be continuing their fundraising efforts next month as they climb Mount Snowdon for the One Great Day cause.
